So, you’ve been reading about how to get your business found online and were bombarded with acronyms and terms that seem like another language.  Here we explain some of the more frequently used terms used by marketing pros and what they really mean.

  • SEO – Search Engine Optimization
    Any activity that increases the relevancy and/or authority of your web pages for a search term, word or phrase.
  • SEM – Search Engine Marketing
    Paid ads on search engines.
  • PPC – Pay Per Click
    Paid ads on search engines for a list of search terms.
  • Collateral
    Printed marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, line sheets etc.
  • SERPs – Search Engine Results Pages
    The list of web pages that come up after you enter a search term and click search.
